SHL, a leading manufacturer of drug delivery devices, received the Operational Excellence Award for Quality from biotech giant Amgen. This prestigious award was presented at Amgen's Operations Supplier Forum, held at the company's headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California on August 9th. In honor of receiving this award, SHL held an internal ceremony on October 21st at the company headquarters in Taiwan to acknowledge the contributions all of the staff involved in Amgen-related projects.

Over 200 SHL employees attended the event hosted by special guest Lucio Giambattista, Vice President of SHL Medical USA, who said, "We appreciate Amgen's recognition of the quality of our products and services. They are a great partner to work with. We continue to work hard to provide innovative solutions and products of the highest quality to all of our customers." SHL GM Frank Isaksson, who also participated in the ceremony said, "SHL has had a long and successful relationship with Amgen. Receiving recognition from a world-leading biotech company like Amgen means a lot to our teams over here. They are proud to have won this award."

SHL have been supplying Amgen with its' patented DAI (Disposable Auto-Injector) since 2004. This auto-injector is used to deliver precise doses of injectable medications to patients throughout the world. These types of devices make taking an injection safer, simple and intuitive. Patients can now use such devices to take their medications in the comfort of their own homes, avoiding unnecessary visits to doctors and long hospital waits.

Before deciding on the recipient of this award, Amgen goes through a special review period to evaluate key suppliers. Assessments were made on the supplier's performance and ability to provide excellence in quality with a focus on delivery, technology and customer relations. Data on past performance, quality standards and audit results were also carefully analyzed.

This internal award presentation ceremony also serves as a special milestone for SHL's 20th Anniversary Celebration, which is taking place from October 19th-23rd.
